The Supreme Court collegium of
judges, headed by Chief Justice of India Altamas Kabir, has recommended
elevation of Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court Justice Arjan
Kumar Sikri and Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court Justice Sharad
Bobde as Supreme Court judges.

into effect from the date they assume charge of their respective office. The
President of India exercised powers conferred to him by Clause 2 of Article 124
